GetWell WINDOW WASH PRO 2000G portable RO system – 250 l/h
GetWell WINDOW WASH PRO 2000G – portable RO system for spot-free cleaning
The GetWell WINDOW WASH PRO 2000G is a wheeled, mobile reverse osmosis unit that produces 250 litres of demineralised water per hour using 2 × 4021 RO membranes in stainless steel membrane housings.
Why isn't tap water enough?
Tap water contains dissolved mineral salts. When water sprayed onto glass or paintwork evaporates, these salts are left behind – the familiar white limescale spots that then have to be wiped off. RO-purified water contains practically no dissolved salts, so it dries spot-free without wiping. This not only means faster work, it also requires no cleaning agents, and higher surfaces can be cleaned with a telescopic brush without scaffolding.
Applications
- Window and glass façade cleaning – with telescopic brush systems
- Solar panel washing – accumulated dust causes a measurable loss of output, and spot-free washing leaves no shading residue
- Vehicle and fleet washing – spot-free final rinse without manual drying
- Shop window and shopfront cleaning for retail units
The rated output applies to a feed water temperature of 25 °C. With colder water the actual output is lower – worth factoring into work planning in winter.
Pretreatment
To protect the membrane, a mechanical pre-filter and an activated carbon filter are required upstream of the unit: free chlorine in tap water irreversibly damages the polyamide membrane. With hard water – typical across most of Hungary – water softening or antiscalant dosing is also advisable, otherwise the membrane scales up quickly and output drops.
Filtration performance
The unit is fitted with an LP-4021-3000 polyamide thin-film composite (TFC) industrial RO membrane with 99% salt rejection according to the manufacturer, measured at a test pressure of 12 bar. Larger machines fitted with 4040 elements achieve a higher rejection of 99.5% – owing to the longer membrane path.
Rejection varies by component. The ranges below are general empirical values typical of polyamide RO membranes, not the manufacturer's own measurements:
- Divalent ions (calcium, magnesium, sulphate): 98–99.5%
- Monovalent ions (sodium, chloride): 95–99%
- Nitrate, fluoride: 90–95%
- Heavy metals (lead, cadmium, chromium): 95–98%
- Bacteria, cysts, viruses, microplastics: more than 99.99%
- Free chlorine and dissolved gases (CO₂, O₂, H₂S): not retained by the membrane
Operating limits: max. 3,000 ppm feed TDS, max. 45 °C water temperature, max. SDI15 = 5, free chlorine below 0.1 ppm, pH 3–10. Compliance with these limits is also a condition of the warranty – especially the chlorine limit, as exceeding it irreversibly damages the membrane.
Recommended pre-filtration – protecting the membrane
This unit does not include a pre-filter. The RO membrane is the most expensive wear part of the system, and in practice it almost never fails on its own, but because of missing or undersized pretreatment. We therefore recommend pre-filtration for every installation – at three levels:
- 3M™ Aqua-Pure™ AP055T – for retaining suspended solids and sediment. This is the minimum: it prevents particulate matter from depositing on the membrane surface and reducing output.
- AP055T + 3M™ Aqua-Pure™ AP117NP – the AP117NP is a 5-micron activated carbon depth filter cartridge in a 10" format. It is important for removing free chlorine: chlorine irreversibly damages the polyamide membrane and is the most common cause of premature membrane failure. For systems running on chlorinated mains water, we consider this pair the standard set-up.
- 3M™ Aqua-Pure™ AP903 – a complete high-flow pre-filter system in a single unit, with a hygienic quick-change cartridge. We recommend this for higher water demand and continuous multi-shift operation.
With hard water, water softening or antiscalant dosing is also required alongside pre-filtration, and with well water, iron and manganese removal as well. Exactly what is needed depends on the laboratory analysis of the raw water – send us your water analysis and we will size the complete line.
Scale inhibition where no water softener is installed
With hard water, mechanical and activated carbon pre-filtration alone is not enough: calcium and magnesium salts precipitate on the membrane surface and permanently reduce output. Where no water softener is installed, the 3M™ Aqua-Pure™ SF18-S scale inhibition cartridge can be considered as entry-level protection. Using sequestration technology, it keeps hardness salts in solution so they cannot deposit.
It is important to keep this in perspective: sequestration capacity is limited and decreases in proportion to water hardness and flow. For higher-capacity machines and persistently hard water, water softening or antiscalant dosing is the right solution – the SF18-S complements these, it does not replace them. Which one is needed depends on the hardness of the raw water and the planned recovery rate.
